Yesterday in church we celebrated the Feast of Pentecost when we remember the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the birthday of the church. To us, Pentecost is all about the family of God – a multicultural family where all barriers of race, creed and culture are broken down, -a diverse family where all are welcomed and respected,-and where the uniqueness of each other is appreciated and celebrated.

Today we had our own Service of the Word and Eucharist for the whole school, led by Deacon Peter, who reminded us that Jesus had a mission to reveal God’s love to the world and to save us from sin. He appointed apostles from among his followers, and sent them out in his name to preach the Gospel.‘As the Father has sent me, so I send you.’And he gave them the authority and power to share the Good News with the entire human race. The mission of Jesus, and today for us as his faithful followers, is to continue to spread His word, through both our words and actions, to all those we meet.

The children have been reflecting on the message of Pentecost and the coming of the Holy Spirit – see some examples of their work below by clicking on the link…
