Our Performance Poetry week was another huge success this year, with some outstanding performances from all year groups. Each year group then performed as a whole class and then in smaller groups. The lively performances were a mixture of new and classic poems and included: The Fish Who Could Wish by John Bush and Korky Paul and Please Mrs Butler by Allan Ahlberg by Y3; The Great Escape from London Zoo by Nick Toczek and The Baby Rap by Ian Souter by Y4; Lochinvar by Sir Walter Scott and The Listeners by Walter de La Mare by Y5; The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe and The Day that the Telly Broke Down  by Lindsay McCrae by Y6, which was made all the more enjoyable by the addition of props (thank you TAs for being so creative!!) and carefully choreographed actions. It was then time for individual performances of poems written or learned by the children, all of whom it has to be said were word perfect. Parents were invited along to upper and lower school assemblies and it was lovely to see so many turn up to be a very appreciative audience.

Well done to our individual winners: Oscar (Y3), Faith (Y4), Archie (Y5) and Leni (Y6) but also to all of the classes for a very enjoyable afternoon.
