This year we decided to hold a non-uniform day (dressing in purple, the colour of the YMT) and cake sale to raise funds for the YMT Youth Missionary Team, who do such fantastic work with the young people of our diocese. A Eucharistic Service will be also be held in school on 26th November to celebrate Youth Friday and the Feast of Christ the King. This special service will be prepared Y5 & Y6 and led by Deacon Peter Lavery, and will celebrate the truth that Jesus shows us we can have joy in Him.  Joy because He has set us free to live the life we were created to live and joy even through the challenges of life. This year as part of Youth Friday and Youth Sunday, the Youth Ministry Team is giving everyone in the diocese, the young people and the adults, a small gift. A gift you can take with you wherever you are and take that opportunity to connect to God. It is the gift of prayer. It’s called The Examen – an ancient form of prayer by an order of priests called the Jesuits, the same one that Pope Francis belonged to when he joined the priesthood. The YMT have created their own adaption or version of The Examen for beginners who are just beginning to explore the idea of prayer.
