Yesterday our Maths lessons in school were exhausting! Not because the children weren’t used to working hard and using their brains to the max, but because they had to generate their own calculations using pedal power! Marcus, from Cycling Generation, brought in his turbo bike and together with our class teachers, led numeracy sessions in all classes. The calculations were based on each child’s individual performance on the exercise bike which gave each class a chance to explore the four rules of number, comparing different measurement, data analysis and calculating averages, as well as keeping fit! The sessions proved to be very popular with all of our children who enjoyed both a mental and physical workout.
