Elections took place recently to appoint the members of our school council for the coming academic year. All of the candidates were given a chance to explain to their class how they were qualified and why they would be good choice in this important and strategic role, before everyone in the class was given a ballot paper. Results were announced in assembly and the winning candidates given a certificate and School Council badge. Miss Allon, then organised a first meeting where various positions including Chair, secretary and communications officers were chosen.
The School Council play an important role here at St Joseph’s by providing a voice for pupils and driving forward improvements, as well as co-ordination fund raising for charities like Macmillan Cancer Support and collecting food for the People’s Kitchen.
