Yesterday, our Year 3 class joined the children of St Joseph’s Infant School and St Benet’s School for the annual Jesse Tree Service in St Joseph’s church. It was a wonderful afternoon of singing and readings from both the Old Testament and the New Testament. Jesse Trees are a very old Christmas Tradition and first started in medieval times. They are used to help tell the story of the Bible from creation to the Christmas Story. The name comes from Jesse who was the Father of the great Jewish King David.

Father Duffy said it was lovely to see all of the children from all three parish schools coming together to mark this special season of Advent, he said he was particularly impressed with the singing.
